New foals in USA 2006 in 2007 from Slovenia
Maestoso Samira XXI, born 2000 breeding stallion from MARC centre (Slovenia) will have the first foals in US next year.

Now we can celebrate the first foals from our centre in USA.
The mares Betalka and Samira sold last year to USA have got a filly and a colt.  


Celebration of the day of  lipizzaner at Bled Lake - 425 anniversary - May 2005

On 22nd of May the Slovenian Lipizzaner breeding association and Stud Lipica organized the yearly celebration of the DAY OF LIPIZZANER. At this time the celebration took place at Lake Bled. Guests from Germany, Austria, Hungary performed together with Lipica and the association. After the performance there was a parade around the lake.

Trip around The Lake Bled, October 5th 2003
A group of 8 lipizzaners made a trip around the lake Bled – Alpean pearl lake of Slovenia. The driving couple is from Marc breeding center.

Lipica open days, September 14th 2003

Lipica invited private breeders to attend a big gala show at the occasion of »Lipica open days«. Marc breeding center were there with four lipizzaners:

261 Maestoso Samira XXI, born 2000 – young riding stallion
207 Maestoso Betalka XVII, born 1998+ 213 Pluto Samira XXI, born 1999 – driving couple


Breeding evaluation, September 06th and 07th 2003

Breeding commission of Slovenian Association evaluated foals, young mares and stallions in Lipica.

Two coalts, 375 Pluto Jadranka I, born 2003 and 376 Favory Betalka I, born 2003 from Marc breeding centre were branded, too.

Among 21 young mares 205 Capra VI, born 1998 in Marc breeding center won the first place.

Among 3 young stallions 261 Maestoso Samira XXI, born 2000 won the first place.


Day of Lipizzaner, May 2003
On May 19th, 1580 Archduke of Slovenian regions Karl II bought the estate Lipica. So the story of Lipizzaners began. May 19th has therefore been declared as the "Day of lipizzaner" by Slovenian Association of Lipizzaner Breeders and Stud Lipica.
On May 17th, 2003 a trip on lipizzaners was organized to celebrate this holiday and MARC Lipizzaner Breeding Centre participated with three horses.

Great International Achievement of Slovenian Lipizzaner - July 20th, 2002

Slovenian lipizzaner breeding association return as a winner from the third International Championship of Lipizzaner organized by LIF and that took place in Topolcianky.

Results:

  • category yearly foals: second and fifth places
  • category one year old mare: first place
  • category two to three years old mare: the mare shared the first place
  • category  two to three years old stallion: first place
  • category seven to ten years old mare: sixth place
  • category seven to ten years old stallion: first place
  • category over ten years old mare: third place

One of the three mares could not perform because she had an injury during the transportation.
Slovenians breeders with the highest Europeans concurrencies (60 elite lipizzaners from all over Europe) and with eight horses performing achieve four first places, one second place, one third place, one fifth place and one sixth place.

Special congratulations to the following champions:

  • one year old mare VALDAMORA II, breeder Milojko Strajnar
  • three years old mare ALLEGRA VIII, breeder Jože Turk
  • three years old stallion CONVERSANO ALLEGRA V, breeder Darko Čermelj
  • nine years old stallion SIGLAVY GAETA II, breeder Andej Hosta, who shared the first and second places in the category best stallion in the Championship

Day of Lipizzaner
On May 19th, 1580 Archduke of Slovenian regions Karl II (brother of the Emperor of the Habsburg monarchy) bought the estate Lipica from Coret - the bishop of Trieste, together with bishop's herd of Karst horses. So the story of Lipizzaners began. May 19th has therefore been declared as the "Day of lipizzaner" by Slovenian Association of Lipizzaner Breeders and Stud Lipica.
On May 18th, 2002 a trip on lipizzaners was organized to celebrate this holiday and MARC Lipizzaner Breeding Centre participated with two horses,
121 Favory Capra (1996) and 120 Bonadea (1996). The trip connected Lipica and the famous Skocjan Caves in the Karst region.

The mares 138 Betalka I, L 056 Samira XXI and L 988 Bonadea XXI gave birth to beautiful fillies.

One more filly was born on July 23rd 2001 in our centre . She is daughter of our mare L 988 Bonadea XXI.

 
Lipizzaner as an attraction point for Americans tourists
On June 26th 2001, Mr. and Mrs. Kollander-Benz from USA were in our breeding centre. They wanted to see the Slovenian beauty and specially lipizzaner. So, they went around Slovenia looking for possibilities how to show to Americans why lipizzaners are a very special horses. In fact, they plan to bring American tourists and include in their schedule some time with lipizzaners.

The president of the Australian Lipizzaner Breeding Association, Ms. Georgina Beard, was in Slovenia on June 20 and 21, 2001. She came to check the quality of the Slovenian lipizzaner herd, visiting some breeders and Lipica. During this period she also visited our breeding centre, so we could have nice talking about different topics. We were pleased with her visit and sure of her satisfaction with the horses she saw in our country.

New foals in 2001

This year 3 foals (females) from Siglavy line are already born in our centre. 138 Betalka I (family Sardinia) gave birth on February 14th, 120 Bonadea (family Presciana) on February 21st and L 056 Samira XXI on April 1stt. This year we expect one more foal.

MARC Lipizzaner breeding centre won national prizes
The Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association to keep the quality of the horses in the high level has its horses judged by the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Commission every year. Members of the breeding commission evaluate all the foals born in the year and decide which mares and stallions can be classified breeding horse. 

This year the judgment was on 14.10.2000 and involved 31 horses between foals, mares and stallions. MARC lipizzaner breeding centre was again very successful. In the category foals,  261 Maestoso Samira XXI (2000) won the first prize between 22 foals. He is son of best mares in L 056 Samira XXI (1990), one of the best mares in Europe (elite breeding mare in Slovenia, champion mare of Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association in 1997 and third place at the International Lipizzaner Show in Aachen, 1997).  

In the category mare,  139 Bonadea (1997), which now is owned by EDVARD RUPNIK (Slovenia), won the second prize, being qualified as first class breeding mare of Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association.


 
New breeding stallion from MARC lipizzaner breeding centre
talko.jpg The winner third place at the International Lipizzaner Show in Mondsee, Austria (1999), the  4 years stallion L 194 Neapolitano Betalka XVII was sold to Finland (Niina Juuri) in March this year. Now he is a licensed breeding stallion.   

In October (2000), he made a good performance in front of an international commission and has become a licensed breeding stallion for Finland and Denmark


  NEW in MARC Lipizzaner Breeding Centre: A harmonious young driving couple for sale

   

 

International Success – The Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association won the 1st and 2nd Price in the Category of Young Mare

     

An international breeding championship of lipizzaner race took place between 2nd and 4th of july, 1999 in Mondsee (Austria). The best horses of this race from all around Europe (approx. 100 horses) were presented in different age categories. The quality of horses were evaluated by four judges (from Holland, Hungary, Germany and Slovenia). The mares  120 Bonadea (MARC lipizzaner breeding centre) and  95 Monteaura IV (Boris Razem), both from Slovenia won with high advantage the first and the second price in the most interesting category, the three and four years old mares. These two mares also reached the highest notes of all presented mares in all categories. In the category of two years old mares reached the mare Valdamora (Milojko Strajnar, also from Slovenia) the second place. The success of Slovenian mares was confirmed with the third place of the three years old stallion Neapolitano Betalka XVII (MARC lipizzaner breeding centre).  

Total success, only 5 presented lipizzaners of the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding Association won gold, twice silver and bronze, what confirms the leading quality of the Slovenian lipizzaner herd.  

Dressage riders and carriage drivers from Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia presented their horses by the gala evening after the delivery of the prices. The highlights of the evening was the presentation of the classical dressage on and above the ground, presented by the riders of the Classical Riding School of Lipizza (Slovenia).
