An
international breeding championship of lipizzaner race
took place between 2nd and 4th of
july, 1999 in Mondsee (Austria). The best horses of this
race from all around Europe (approx. 100 horses) were
presented in different age categories. The quality of
horses were evaluated
by four judges (from Holland, Hungary, Germany and Slovenia). The mares 120 Bonadea (MARC lipizzaner breeding centre)
and 95 Monteaura IV (Boris Razem), both from Slovenia
won with high advantage the first and the second price in
the most interesting category, the three and four years
old mares. These two mares also reached the highest notes
of all presented mares in all categories. In the category
of two years old mares reached the mare Valdamora
(Milojko Strajnar, also from Slovenia) the second place.
The success of Slovenian mares was confirmed with the
third place of the three years old stallion Neapolitano
Betalka XVII (MARC lipizzaner breeding centre). Total success, only 5 presented
lipizzaners of the Slovenian Lipizzaner Breeding
Association won gold, twice silver and bronze, what
confirms the leading quality of the Slovenian lipizzaner
herd.
Dressage riders
and carriage drivers from Germany, Austria, Hungary and
Slovenia presented their horses by the gala evening after
the delivery of the prices. The highlights of the evening
was the presentation of the classical dressage on and
above the ground, presented by the riders of the
Classical Riding School of Lipizza (Slovenia).
